Volunteering

Our Youth programs rely solely on volunteers to prepare and provide youth and family activities for our communities. A planning committee meets monthly to plan and discuss ideas for future events. These meetings are open to anyone who would like to participate. However, we realize it is sometimes difficult to attend meetings and some people would like to help in other capacities. We have developed a “Volunteer Network” which consists of individuals that assist us with program preparation, fundraisers, public relations and provide additional volunteer participation at our larger events. If you would like to share your time and talents in some way with our programs, please contact Sue Trost at 431-3024 or email her at strost@ysbiv.org. Or you can email one of our Community program directors. Just click on the 'contact us' tab to find the Community Director for your location.

Family Volunteering

It is a fact that families that volunteer together will benefit because;

  • It's fun
  • It strengthens families
  • It makes family time valuable to both families and communities.
  • It connects and strengthens communities.
  • It strengthens nonprofits by increasing community awareness of important social need and expands volunteer base.
  • It improves family communication.
  • It helps create a new generation of dedicated volunteers.
  • It teaches kids values like kindness, empathy, respect, friendliness and tolerance.

It changes lives!

Please feel free to e-mail Sue with any questions or concerns you may have.
